gregory akerman

"amateurish, tedious, pretentious"

“Gregory Akerman shares with us his fascination with people who claim to be people other than the people that they in fact are. Taking the examples of Bill ‘Brushy’ Roberts and the Three Christ’s of Ypsilanti, we try to find out why no one wanted to believe their claims, when exactly it was we lost our faith in the idiot ramblings of rambling idiots and most importantly, why has no one ever written a sitcom based on either of these cases? But you know, with jokes and sh*t.”

This was the second solo show I did (although the wonderful Chris Timoney did about 10 minutes at the top of the show) that I wrote in under 48 hours. Lots of fun and was intended as the final pay off to the show “Come Hell or High Water …”. The idea being that if my search for fame worked, I would be able to fill a 150 capacity room with next to no promotion. Amazingly, it worked.

Of all the things I have done, I regret not filming this the most – at some point I would like to rewrite it and do this all over again, was fuck of a good.
